Trump's endorsement of Collins is a serious miscalculation . Collins has shown bad political instincts throughout the race and is far more beatable by Ossoff than Dooley. The Kemp machine has beaten Trump in Georgia before, and backing a weak candidate hands Ossoff an easier path to victory. This endorsement helps no one but the Democrats.

Dooley may have been the bigger challenge to OsoffOssoff, but once again, Trump has picked someone who's more loyal to him than to voters. Osoff's campaign momentum was going to defeat either Republican, but the road may be clearer now that the election-denying Collins could wind up being the opponent.
