Mike Collins is the real deal — a true America First fighter who backed Trump from the start and stands against open borders, cashless bail and tax hikes. Jon Ossoff voted to raise taxes by over $4 trillion, supported men in women's sports and fought against voter ID laws. Collins hasdeserves Trump's complete endorsement and is the only candidate built to beat Ossoff in Georgia.
Trump's endorsement of Collins is a serious miscalculation —. Collins has shown bad political instincts throughout the race and is far more beatable by Ossoff than Derek Dooley would be. The Kemp machine has already beaten Trump in Georgia before, and backing a weak candidate hands Ossoff an easier path to victory. This endorsement helps no one but the Democrats.
Dooley may have been the bigger challenge to Osoff, but once again Trump has picked someone who's more loyal to him than to voters. Osoff's campaign momentum was going to defeat either Republican, but the road may be clearer now that the election-denying Collins could wind up being the opponent.
There's a 53.1% chance that Republicans will hold the most seats in the U.S. Senate after the 2026 midterm elections, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
