Was this a result of criminal negligence or proof that the system can respond and self-correct?

The Spin

TheThis Malviya Nagar hotel fire wasn't just a tragedy — it was the predictable result of rampant regulatory failure. The building had no fire NOC, illegal basement rooms, a single exit and zero ventilation, yet authorities let it operate at four times its licensed capacity. 21Twenty-one people are dead because enforcement was nonexistent, and that's criminal negligence.

While there will always be rogue criminals, such as the absconded mangermanager in this case, the real indictment here is the poor response of emergency services. With eyewitnesses suggesting there were signs of fire up to an hour before emergency vehicles arrived, the whole region should be focused on improving services for the sake of future safety.
