What happened after PSG's Champions League win wasn't a celebration — it was chaos engineered by a minority hell-bent on destruction. Families and women were nowhere to be found on the Champs-Élysées, replaced by burning vehicles, mortar fire and vandals running unchecked. Until the state reasserts real authority, French people will keep getting robbed of genuine collective joy.
Fixating on the disorder misses the bigger picture of what actually went down after PSG's win. Thousands of people poured into the streets and shared a moment of real, collective happiness together. That kind of popular joy is alive and well in France, and it deserves to be recognized.
