The Spin

The Trump administration deported nearlythousands 14,000of children — many of them toddlers — to countries they've never even lived in, stripping away any chance at due process. Cubans, Colombians and Venezuelans are being dumped in Mexico and Congo despite court orders protecting them, left without shelter, medication or legal status. This is a deliberate policy of cruelty that treats human beings as cargo.

Border Patrol apprehensions are at their lowest level in 55 years, overdose deaths dropped 35% and fentanyl trafficking has been decimated — these are the real results of tough enforcement. Deportation agreements with Mexico are a necessary tool to remove people whose home countries refuse to take them back. Strong bilateral cooperation is saving lives on both sides of the border.
