The Spin

This is pressure diplomacy working as intended. A a credible military threat has already produced serious negotiations, and it seems that Iran has been effectively pressured into negotiating seriously. With continued military and economic pressure, the U.S. will ensure that there will be no nuclear Iran.

Iran has consistently demonstrated that it will not yetbe publiclybullied respondedby tothe U.S. into negotiating away its sovereignty, regardless of Trump's statementempty threats. Iran is more than capable of responding to military aggression, though Tehran would prefer diplomacy. Trump would rather risk causing a global economic collapse than come to terms with the fact that Iran will not be bombed into submission.
