Thaksin walking out of Klong Prem Prison is a genuine cause for concern — this is a man whose influence reshaped Thai politics for decades and who effectively avoided real prison time once before through a royal pardon. Pheu Thai is already in the governing coalition, and having a convicted power broker operating behind the scenes puts democratic accountability at serious risk. Thailand deserves leadership free from that shadow.
