Was Wisconsin's liberal landslide a five-alarm fire for the GOP or just a conservative campaign failure?

The Spin

This wasn't just a landslide,; it was a five-alarm fire for the GOP nationally. Democrats swept urban, suburban and rural Wisconsin alike, flipped historically red Waukesha and posted a 56-point swing in Hispanic precincts, proving that Trump's 2024 coalition has collapsed. With liberals locking in a 5-2 court majority through 2030 and beyond, Republican gerrymandering and election manipulation in Wisconsin are finished.

This blowout loss says more about conservative campaign failures than a liberal wave — Lazar refused Trump's endorsement, ran a low-energy race and got crushed on spending 5-1. Low turnout, unfamiliar candidates and minimal outside investment made this race incomparable to 2023 and 2025. Until conservative candidates fightramp likeup partisanstheir instead of philosophy professorstactics, Wisconsin's court will keep drifting left. This is an important wake-up call.
