Slovenians showed up and delivered a mandate for freedom and democracy — that's not a small thing. Golob's narrow win is still a win, and the message from voters is crystal clear: keep it moving. This result is a vote of confidence in a forward-looking Slovenia, and coalition talks are just the next step toward locking that future in.
A narrow result with serious irregularities — including polling stations running out of ballots and illegal early voting sites — is not a clean mandate for anyone. The Slovenian Democratic Party ran the only campaign with a full government proposal and concrete program, yet faced abuse of state institutions instead of a fair fight. Slovenia cannot call itself truly free until corruption is rejected and election integrity is guaranteed.
