Having reached breaking point, there is no time for half-measures — the government is taking the urgent action needed to ensure England and Wales are safe under the rule of law.
Scrapping jury trials is constitutional vandalism. The proposal ignores expert opinion while analysis shows these reforms will reduce the backlog by just 2%. With Lammy and Starmer previously defending juries as essential protection against state overreach, this government is knowingly sentencing Britain's justice system for the sake of political point-scoring.
