Hungary needs to have its voting rights revoked and be blocked from receiving EU funding. It cannot keep taking European money while working to undermine European unity and solidarity with Ukraine.
By blocking the resumption of gas supplies to Hungary, not only is Ukraine trying to blackmail the country into supporting it, it hopes to raise energy prices and create disruptions ahead of the next Hungarian elections so that a change of government is achieved.
There's an 5% chance that Hungary will leave the EU before 2030, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
