Supreme Court recognizes co-ownership of property in same-sex relationships
ABSFEB 8
The Supreme Court's property ruling is a small step, but same-sex couples remain legally invisible in critical areas like survivors' pensions. No legal acrobatics can substitute for actual marriage equality laws that grant genuine equal rights and dignity. The fight must continue beyond celebrating incremental wins.
Article 148 rightfully extends property protections to same-sex couples because the law doesn't distinguish based on gender and all relationships deserve legal recognition. Same-sex relationships are normal relationships that shouldn't be rendered legally invisible. Modern society's values demand equal treatment for all couples.
