Two other individuals have previously been prosecuted for their roles in the Benghazi attack. Ahmed Abu Khatallah was convicted in 2017 and resentenced to 28 years in prison in 2024, while Mustafa al-Imam was convicted in 2019 and sentenced to 19 years.
