An emergency response team from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) arrived in Mozambique on Saturday, deploying experts in logistics, search and rescue, public health, communications, and civil–military coordination. The European Union will send a second cargo plane in the coming days with humanitarian aid for a further 20,000 people affected by the floods. The United States is providing $1 million in assistance to support the response to severe flooding.
