The Spin

Israel’s airport security is strict because it must be, applying uniform procedures in a region facing real threats. The Ghana delegation’s delay reflected precaution, not discrimination, and Israel apologized once matters were clarified. Ghana’s deportation of three Israelis was a measured bid to assert dignity after the resolution, even as Israel urged de-escalation and confirmed the Ghanaians held valid visas and violated no rules.

Israeli authorities deliberately targeted Ghanaian travelers at Ben Gurion Airport, subjecting them to degrading treatment, detaining seven citizens without credible justification and deporting three others. This discriminatory conduct is unacceptable and clearly at odds with more than six decades of friendly relations, long-standing diplomatic cooperation, and the mutual respect both nations have publicly affirmed for years.

Metaculus Prediction

There is a 45 percent chance that Ghana will sign into law "The Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values" bill before 2026, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
