Trump Confirms Phone Call with Venezuela's Maduro

The Spin

Direct communication between Washington and Caracas shows Trump's pressure campaign is working, forcing Maduro into negotiations as the regime desperately tries to buy time and avoid consequences. The military buildup and terrorist designation have cornered the dictator with no safe exit, leaving him to hunker down and hope Trump backs off. Land strikes may be necessary to finally change Maduro's calculations and make him realize his survival depends on cutting a deal.

Trump's military buildup and terrorist designation lack any court-tested evidence while UN and DEA reports consistently show Venezuela plays only a marginal role in drug trafficking. The strikes have already killed over 80 civilians in what UN experts label extrajudicial executions, and Washington's real goal is regime change to seize Venezuela's oil reserves. This illegal aggression violates international law and targets a legitimately elected government.
