This deliberate underfunding forces tens of thousands of qualified doctors out while patients suffer on waiting lists. The NHS is being systematically destroyed through chronic underinvestment in medical workforce.
Doctors demanding a staggering 29% pay rise after already receiving 28.9% increases are being recklessly unrealistic during a fiscal crisis. Their strike action directly harms patients and diverts precious resources away from rebuilding the NHS. The government should impose minimum service levels to stop this damaging posturing.
