The Spin

Trump's administration is deliberately withholding emergency SNAP funds despite having legal authority to release them, using hunger as a political weapon. The USDA's own shutdown plan contradicts their public claims, proving they can access contingency funds to feed 42 million Americans. This manufactured crisis exposes a president who's abandoned constitutional limits to consolidate power while Congress has abdicated its responsibility to govern.

Democrats are blocking the continuing resolution that would fund SNAP benefits, with Senate Republicans voting 13 times to pass funding while Democrats filibuster. The real issue isn't emergency funds but Democrats demanding $488 billion in Obamacare subsidies for families earning over $128,000.
