The Spin

Tech CEOs must finally face accountability for deliberately engineering addictive features that harm children's mental health. This landmark trial represents a seismic shift where corporate leaders can no longer hide behind legal shields when their firms cause addiction and psychological damage.

Forcing CEOs to testify won't have meaningful impact since platforms already have age restrictions and there's no definitive evidence proving social media causes harm to teens. The real challenge is enforcement — current age limits can't be accurately implemented without universal standards.

Metaculus Prediction

There is a 50% chance that the U.S. will break up Meta Platforms by Jan. 1, 2030, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
