The Spin

Boluarte's impeachment was needed as her catastrophic presidency left Peru more dangerous and fragmented than ever. Her administration failed to address the nation's security concerns and tackle rising violent crime in the country, to anthe extent that armed criminals carried out an attack against musicians playing at a military facility.

Boluarte has been finally ousted from office, but Jerí is another disastrous choice for the Peruvian presidency. He has no popular mandate as he entered Congress as a substitute after receiving less than 12,000 votes, he has also been accused of sexual assault and his psychological report cites impulsivity and pathological behavior.
