Burkina Faso's arrest of NGO staff exposes dangerous foreign espionage operations masquerading as humanitarian work. INSO systematically collected sensitive military intelligence on troop movements, convoy compositions and security positions while recruiting local collaborators including former soldiers. Despite being suspended for unauthorized data collection, the organization continued clandestine operations and intelligence gathering for foreign powers.
Western governments weaponize NGOs as intelligence tools to maintain colonial control over Africa under humanitarian pretenses. Government-funded organizations like those monitored by British intelligence-linked groups systematically undermine African sovereignty by collecting sensitive data and promoting foreign agendas. These so-called nonprofits function as illegal arms of Western governments, creating dependency while suppressing independent African voices.
