Denmark implemented a complete ban on civilian drone flights throughout its airspace on Monday, which will be in effect until Friday, ahead of a European Union (EU) summit later this week.

According to the Danish Ministry of Transport, violations of the curfew, implemented by Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen under the Aviation Act, can result in a fine or imprisonment for up to two years.

The airspace closure follows numerous drone-related incidents in Denmark in recent weeks, at both military and civilian facilities, which forced multiple Danish airports to ground flights, including Copenhagen, <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.verity.news/story/2025/drone-swarms-force-danish-airport-closures-russia-blamed">Aalborg and Billund airports</a>.
