The union rejected a 13 percent pay increase offer from the government, demanding 19 percent instead, while arguing that the proposed changes represent an attack designed to erode services, undermine workers and potentially lead to privatization of the Crown corporation.</span

Canada Post must present a transformation plan within 45 days outlining implementation of changes including slower delivery standards that will increase letter mail delivery time from three to four days to three to seven days by moving non-urgent mail by ground instead of air.</span
