A gunman opened fire at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday, killing two detainees and injuring a third. The shooter reportedly fired from a nearby roof or other type of high ground, according to ICE.

Police said the suspected shooter, who also killed himself, shot "indiscriminately" at both the ICE facility and a nearby transport van that was carrying the detainees. No officers were harmed, but the FBI suggested ICE was the target, citing evidence of bullets engraved with the phrase "ANTI-ICE" on them.

While no motive of the suspected shooter, reportedly identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, has been given, federal and state Republican officials have blamed anti-ICE rhetoric for recent attacks on police and immigration officers.
