The Spin

The evidence overwhelmingly proves Routh's guilt beyond any reasonable doubt. Prosecutors meticulously documented 17 trips to scope out Trump's golf course, DNA evidence on the rifle, and a written confession stating "This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump." The defendant's own actions — hiding in bushes for hours with a loaded weapon — speak louder than his desperate courtroom theatrics.

This entire case reeks of prosecutorial overreach against someone who never fired a shot or harmed anyone. Routh's rifle malfunctioned repeatedly, the scope was held together with tape and glue, and he clearly lacked the capability to carry out any real threat. The government manufactured an assassination case from what amounts to trespassing with a broken weapon.
