While this license sounds promising on paper, it's essentially a controlled experiment with limited scope that doesn't address the fundamental problem of AI companies already scraping vast amounts of copyrighted material without consent. The pilot only covers works from creators who explicitly opted in, leaving the majority of artists still vulnerable to unauthorized use. Real protection requires stronger enforcement mechanisms, not voluntary licensing frameworks that AI companies can simply choose to ignore.
