President Emmanuel Macron appointed Sébastien Lecornu as France's Prime Minister on Tuesday, a day after François Bayrou was forced to resign following a confidence vote loss in the Assemblée Nationale.

François Bayrou suffered defeat in Monday's confidence vote with 364 MPs voting against him and only 194 supporting him, along with 35 abstentions, after he called the vote to end a budget standoff.
