Clearly, ordinary citizens recognize these prosecutions are politically motivated overreach designed to intimidate residents who oppose Trump's military occupation of their city. That's why the DOJ was unable to obtain a felony indictment. His case was only one of several high-profile cases of officers being assaulted, and a message must be sent that this won't be tolerated. Trump's law enforcement surge is working and officers shouldn'tshould be operating withwithout fear of being assaulted.
