Numerous fans injured in violent clashes at soccer match in Argentina as stadium was set on fire, seats thrown

The violence was clearly instigated by Universidad de Chile supporters who destroyed stadium property and threw dangerous objects at innocent home fans. These visiting fans acted with unprecedented aggression, ripping out toilets and sinks to use as weapons while detonating stun grenades in a crowded stadium.
The organizational failures were evident from the start, with authorities placing 3,000 away fans directly above home supporters without proper barriers or adequate security measures in place. CONMEBOL's decision to prohibit police presence in the away section created a dangerous situation that spiraled out of control.
