The Spin

As opposed to tackling the problem of antisemtism, which is raging in Australia, the country's government has instead decided to give it more fuel by making false accusations against Israeli politicians, as well as rewarding Hamas by recognizing a so-called "Palestinian state." This is unacceptable and shameful, and that's why the retaliatory move was taken.

Australia has always been a partner to Israel and was the first country to vote in favor of the UN resolution creating the state of Israel. It has also always acted decisively against antisemitism and promoted acceptance of different races, religions and political views. For that same reason, it is why the country is in favor of forming a Palestinian state and Israel's unwarranted reaction decreases diplomacy when more of it is needed.
