Maxwell was Epstein's girlfriend for almost two decades, helping him traffic and abuse dozens of underage victims, some as young as 14. She knows she holds the power to unlock this case, but it's not clear now that further testimony beyond her trial would give new and credible about who else might have abused the girls alongside Epstein.
While this has all the makings of a will he or won't he drama, we've been down this path with Donald Trump before. His statements show he's warming up to the idea of offering a full pardon to Maxwell. Now he's just laying the groundwork but don't be surprised when this comes along.
