Plaintiffs include members of the English team that won the 2003 Rugby World Cup, Steve Thompson, Mark Regan and Phil Vickery, as well as former Welsh players Gavin Henson, Colin Charvis, and Ryan Jones. The number increased after 520 new players joined the suit on Friday.

The plaintiffs accuse World Rugby, the Rugby Football Union, and the Welsh Rugby Union among others of negligence, saying they sustained serious injuries "with little or no aftercare or support" and did not take reasonable measures to protect them from concussions or blows to the head.
