A UN Report published Monday said the most dangerous place for women and girls was their own home. Around 140 of them are killed by an intimate partner or relative every day on average, with a cumulative figure of 51,100 in 2023.
The cumulative number has increased marginally from the 2022 figure of 48,800, according to the report by UN Women and the UN Office of Drugs and Crime on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
