Jack Teixeira (22), a former member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, received a 15-year prison term on Tuesday for collecting and sharing sensitive military material from the Defense Department about the war in Ukraine, putting the country's national security at risk.
In March of this year, Teixeira pleaded guilty to six counts under the Espionage Act involving the deliberate retention and sharing of classified information. Before receving his sentence, Teixeira addressed the court and apologized for his actions and said he accepted the consequences.
