Quincy Jones, a titan of the music industry whose career spanned over 75 years, has died aged 91.
His death was confirmed by his publicist Arnold Robinson who said Jones "passed away peacefully" in his Bel Air home on Sunday, surrounded by his family.
"Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing," the family said in a statement. "And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."
This is a huge loss for the music community whose work as a composer, arranger, producer, conductor and scorer spanned decades and a number of musical genres. He will be remembered as a pioneer and his spirit will live on through the thousands of records he worked on.
