Norovirus, commonly known as the winter vomiting bug, spreads through contact with infected individuals, contaminated surfaces, or ingestion of contaminated food and water.

The highly contagious virus has six key symptoms: nausea, projectile vomiting, diarrhea, high temperature, severe abdominal pain, and aching limbs, with symptoms typically appearing within one to two days of infection.

Treatment for norovirus typically involves home care, rest, and increased fluid intake, with sufferers advised to stay away from work, school, and healthcare facilities for at least 48 hours after symptoms clear to prevent further spread.
