At least 193 people were killed in Nepal after heavy rain triggered floods and landslides across the Himalayan nation over the weekend, local authorities said on Monday. [1]
In a statement, police added that 31 people were still reported missing while 96 people were injured. [1]
While monsoon season brings floods and landslides to Nepal on a yearly basis, scientists said that climate change was exacerbating the problem as the rainfall has got worse year on year.
