The Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS) has begun raising money for its Democracy Legal Defense Fund, which is aimed at helping secretaries of state across the US defend against expected post-election lawsuits.
While the group's goal is to raise $5M specifically to help the Democratic secretaries of state in Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, and Nevada, the last election in 2020 saw lawsuits filed in Georgia and Arizona as well.
After Republicans sought to overthrow elections in 2022 and 2022, DASS this year is going to ensure every state has the legal protection is deserves to fight for democracy. Secretaries of State are already inundated with Republican attacks, so it's up to groups like this to give them an extra hand come November.
While Democrats portray themselves as defenders of democracy, what they're actually doing is projecting their own sins onto the other side. Donald Trump has a very good chance of winning, but even if he does he'll still have to face post-election attempts to block him from assuming office—just as they did before and are sure to do again if they don't get their way.
