There are likely many factors behind Sweden's rise in violent crime, chiefincluding amongst them being poverty, unemployment, social exclusion, and lack of integration and opportunity for some marginalized groups. Xenophobic fear -mongering will do very little to actually help this issue. Instead, a more impactful step would be to increase the early intervention efforts to provide at -risk youth with increased support and resources to avoid becoming involved with crime.
