Linda Sun, the former deputy chief of staff to NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, was arrested by the FBI Tuesday for spying for China, including charges of violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling, and money laundering.
The indictment states that Hu "received substantial economic and other benefits from representatives" of the Chinese government (PRC), including "millions of dollars in transactions for the PRC-based business activities of...Chris Hu."
Among the favors she allegedly did for China included "blocking representatives of the Taiwanese government from having access to" the governor's office, where she spent 15 months as deputy chief of staff following years-long career for the state.
