Harris and Walz to Take Part in First Campaign Interview With CNN

The Facts

• Before this Thursday, Vice Pres. Harris has not taken part in a formal interview or press conference since Pres. Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 Presidential Election nearly six weeks ago.

• While the Vice President appeared in three interviews by social media content creators during the Democratic National Convention (DNC), the Harris campaign committed to taking part in a formal interview with a national media outlet before the end of August.

• The interview will be held by Dana Bash, who co-moderated CNN's June 27 debate between Pres. Joe Biden and former Pres. Donald Trump alongside Jake Tapper, and will take place in Georgia as the Vice President takes part in a bus tour of the state.
