Trump's team confirmed it hired Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh to the GOP candidate's 2024 campaign. It said their "unmatched experience" will help combat "the most radical ticket in American history."
Lewandowski was in charge of Trump's 2016 campaign and Murtaugh served as the Republican nominee's communications director in 2020, while Pfeiffer, Brusewitz, and Budowich have all worked at the pro-Trump Super PAC MAGA Inc.
Lewandowski also worked at MAGA Inc. until 2021, when he was fired after being accused of sexually harassing a donor in Las Vegas. He later agreed to a deal with prosecutors to avoid a misdemeanour charge for the alleged incident.
With the media refusing to hold Harris's socialist ideas and hollow policy agenda to account, Trump's campaign shakeup brings in savvy veterans with track records of defeating America's left-wing elite. With Trump once again up against the establishment machine, the GOP is wise to seek the support of those who know how to take them on and win.
Trump's desperate decision to bring Lewandowski and his lackeys back into the fold is a testament to Harris's continued momentum and the GOP's stuttering campaign. With Lewandowski infamous for his dubious stance of letting "Trump be Trump," it seems the former president remains set on ignoring internal advice to focus on policy and has chosen instead to double down on vulgar attacks against the Democratic ticket.
