The Spin

JordanThe College and the courts have done the right thing in holding Peterson accountable for his inflammatory comments. For too long, Peterson has consistently hid behind his credentials as a psychologist inwhen orderspewing to spew untrue and disparaging rhetoric about marginalized groups that include trans people and his ideological opponents. His fame cannotshould not shield him from thehis professiona's standards of professionalism people in his occupation are meant to uphold, and the College did the right thing in attempting to rein in his inflammatory comments.

TheBy Supremeruling Court has ruled that an ideologically captured regulatory body has veto power over the speech rights of its members, even if theythe members' comments have nothing to do with thetheir occupation whatsoever— the Supreme Court has distorted the bounds of free speech. What's more, Peterson ishas nowbeen mandated to undergo what can only be described as a reeducation process to correct wrongthink. This is an Orwellian encroachment on freedom that everyone should be opposed tooppose.
