Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu arrived in Washington D.C. on Monday, as part of a weeklong visit where he will address Congress and meet with US officials to discuss a hostage and cease-fire deal.
He is scheduled to meet with President Joe Biden on Thursday after the president has recovered from Covid. Netanyahu is also scheduled to meet with Former President Donald Trump on Friday, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
On Wednesday, Netanyahu is set to deliver an address to a joint session of Congress, which dozens of Democratic lawmakers plan to boycott. Vice President Harris will not be attending the address, citing a scheduling conflict. Beforehand, he is scheduled to meet with House Speaker, Mike Johnson, and Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer.
This visit will be a great opportunity for Netanyahu and American politicians to discuss a possible ceasefire for the war in Gaza. This widely anticipated visit may bring with it the announcement of a deal to end the conflict. At the very least, this could give US officials a chance to weigh in on the Turmoil in the Middle East.
