Is Climate Change an Existential Threat?

The US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Monday declared $4.3B in funding for local, community-driven climate action projects of 25 recipients in 30 states.

Besides helping forest management and household energy efficiency, among other areas, the funds will reportedly bolster action towards local sustainability goals.

The Biden administration believes these new funds would reduce greenhouse emissions cumulatively by roughly two percentage points by 2030.

The EPA said the 25 applicants — including states, tribes, local governments, and coalitions of all these entities — were selected from among a longer list of 300.

The announcement came on a day climate groups, dubbing him history's "greatest US President for climate," called on his successor to build on his legacy.

Some green activists have also sought Biden's removal from the presidential race, fearing Donald Trump's return as President to the peril of the Democrat's climate policy.
