The Tumult of Biden’s Presidency
TimeJUL 21 2024
In an interview with NBC News on Monday, US Pres. Joe Biden said it was a "mistake" to say that former Pres. Donald Trump should be put "in a bull's-eye" after the Republican nominee narrowly survived an assassination attempt over the weekend.
Biden made the remark in a private call with donors the Monday before the shooting. It became public after Politico acquired a recording of the call and reported its contents.
Speaking with NBC's Lester Holt, Biden said "it was a mistake to use the word," adding that what he meant was that the focus should be placed on Trump's policies and the lies he told during the pair's televized debate.
