The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that tech billionaire Elon Musk, two days after endorsing Donald Trump, claimed he would donate $45 million per month to a pro-Trump Super Pac geared at helping Trump win the election.

Bloomberg reports that Musk has already made a substantial donation to the America PAC. No one knows the exact figure of Musk's donation, but sources claim it was a substantial amount. The PAC must make the donor list public by July 15.

Musk is one of the world's richest people, with an estimated net worth of $252 billion. If Musk follows through with his contribution to the Super PAC, it will most likely be the highest-known donation of the 2024 election season.

According to The New York Times, the America Pac has received support from some of Musk’s tech friends and allies, such as Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of Palantir with Peter Thiel, who is known for his significant political contributions to Trump’s VP nominee, Senator JD Vance.

Musk has stated that he voted for Barack Obama and, subsequently, Joe Biden in the 2020 election. However, he has now turned against the Democratic Party and repeatedly lambasted the White House on issues like immigration.

Musk's decision to donate money to the Trump Super PAC has sparked considerable criticism, given that he previously said that he would not contribute to any presidential campaigns. This means, however, that he might donate money to groups that support the candidates.

On March 6, Musk stated on X that he has no intention of making donations to any US Presidential candidate. Apparently, Tesla’s CEO has changed his mind, and only days after expressing his support for Donald Trump, he is said to be willing to pay a sizeable amount of money to a Pro Trump Super PAC. Musk cannot be trusted.
