The Facts

    The Spin

The burning of fossil fuels has led to annual record-breaking heat for several years now, and what's most troubling is that heat-related deaths are rising alongside these temperature changes. From north to south and east to west, Americans are finding it more and more difficult to avoid these lethal heat waves. As human beings are the ones who created inorganic global warming, this catastrophe can only be stopped if human behavior changes.

The media sensationalizes natural disaster stories so much that many people think the world is always on fire. What they don't include is that natural disaster deaths have dropped by 92% since their peak in the 1920s. We probably won't prevent the predicted 2.5°C temperature increase, but, as society has over the past century, we will continue to advance technologically and medically to help gradually bring down emissions and protect people from severe weather.
