Trump Endorses Virginia State Senator Challenging Freedom Caucus Chair

Former US Pres. Donald Trump has endorsed Virginia state Senator John McGuire over incumbent two-term US Rep. Bob Good in the GOP primary race. Good is also the Chair of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus.

Primary challenges like this represent the growing dangerous trend of Republican Party infighting. While he and McGuire both seem to be very conservative, conservative lawmakers will only hurt themselves by continuing to back different candidates. The conservative wing of the GOP needs to win elections, not fight over who loves Trump more.
