A report from the Guardian newspaper alleges that a Mossad director had engaged in an intimidation campaign against then-International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Fatou Bensouda to get her to drop an Israeli war crimes investigation.
Then-Mossad chief Yossi Cohen is said to have pressured Bensouda in secret meetings to abandon a 2021 case into Israeli war crimes. Bensouda reportedly informed ICC officials of the "threatening" nature of the interactions.
The ICC has consistently engaged in underhanded tactics to attack Israel. There is no way for anyone to take seriously a court that is now a handmaiden for terrorist apologists, as they somehow find a moral equivalency between Hamas and Israel. The ICC has trampled on every one of their founding principles in their treatment of Israel, so Israelis have every right to be skeptical and suspicious of their claims.
Israel has treated the international community with contempt in every instance where the world attempts to hold them accountable. These allegations of intimidation of an ICC prosecutor come as no surprise, as Israel continues to flout international law with impunity. More light is finally being shed on Israel's war crimes and how they have attempted to prevent them from being exposed.
